This is just a helpful post to those who are having this problem —
i was troubleshooting this issue for many days, installed
Health Check & Troubleshooting Plugin and deactivated all the plugins and narrowed it down to an old version of “Ithemes” security plugin somehow interfering with it.
After disabling only this plugin this was definitely the culprit —
