Hi – I recently realized a mess in my media library: many pictures had multiple duplicates (in addition to the ones created by WP automatically).
I first thought that it’s Elementor doing that. But I just found out that pictures were associated to pages that I had created by duplicating an existing page. I.e., all the pictures on that one page were duplicated (which is not necessary)… including those pictures that were not even showing on the source page anymore.
I guess it comes from the option “Attachments” … which I just found… I hightly recommend switching this off by default!!!!! Caused me a lot of trouble.
