I have tried three times to load the update to WP5.0 via the notification and instructions on one of my sites (hardlynatural.byethost7.com) and in all cases the process gets to ‘preparing to the install’ and then simply freezes. I haven’t as a result been able to install the upgrade. I’m not sure whether at this point I should try a manual upgrade via FTP but am not entirely surely which of the files and folders to overwrite in htdocs.
This has not happened on my other site (postfestum.byethost4.com) where the upgrade went quickly and smoothly.
