Is it safe to delete the user roles that are automatically created by plugins?

I’m currently creating a membership site that has about 5 user roles. The thing is, every time I install a plugin that uses user roles, the plugin creates its own roles.

My question is, will I run into problems if I set all plugins to use my 5 roles and delete the roles that were installed by the plugins?
