I have scoured the forums and web for this but seem to be ever so more confused!!
I have a domain (eg MyFavouriteWebSite.com) – I would like to purchase a shorter domain (eg mfws.com).
My question is – how can I best initially use both domains with the one website & where do I make the changes required?
Both domains should be used initially so that existing users can still access the site – with a view to migrating the site over to the new domain and not renewing the existing longer one.
The domains are provided by a different supplier to the hosting.
I have read about making changes to DNS settings? Should this be done via the Hosting supplier or Domain supplier? And what settings do I need to make?
Or can it all be done in WordPress? I have also read about Canonical url’s?
I try to do things myself with odd bits of code – but this I am finding difficult to understand – so any help is much appreciated.
If you can provide examples too – that would be great.
