htaccess redirects not counted and not recognized

Hello,
I’m trying to add some .htaccess redirects to the others I already have (wordpress ones).

I see that:
– the redirects are correctly written into the .htaccess file (on top of it)
– when I manually try the redirects (visiting the source url) I’m correctly redirected to the target url

BUT
– when I check the redirect status within the plugin it shows an error (see here: https://cl.ly/5690674710a0)
– what I care most, the views counter is not updated, remaining always at 0

Does anyone know if, for .htaccess redirects, I lose the ability to check the redirects status and the view counter as well?
