Hey guys, ( not sure where i should post this)
Recently I’ve been asked to help out a friend on his website. the previous person had left it in a bit of a state and I have taken it upon myself to clean some of it up. Being completelly new to wordpress I’ve dived into it. Managed to fix links,pictures and make some forms.
I’ve noticed how slow the website was loading upon entering ( a good 7 seconds) and realized all the images were .PNG’S of roughly 1.5 mb + in size. I figured seeing how easy things were this far i could simply compress them to JPEG, re-upload them to media and somewhere select them for the slider….exept. I’m not. I’ve been searching for hours now and slowly started pulling out my hairs since I now haven’t only broken the site but don’t know how to fix it. been looking at the code which to say the least I’m not understanding either. Can anyone here help me out on fixing this ( hopefully) easy thing. I only have 2 plug-ins running ” contact form” and ” under construction” . I’m completelly new and would not know what other information would be usefull but someone please help me out.
