WP Error on Uploading Image File

I have created an Image field, but when I try to upload an image, I get the WP message “Specified file failed upload test.” Do you know how this can be fixed? I’ve tried this with many different files and with both Chrome and FireFox.

I’m running BuddyPress 3.1.0 on WP 4.9.7.
