Trying to locate a good backup plugin, so far this one,
1.Not user friendly.
2.Creates proprietary archive format
1. Not User Friendly
When the backup was finished, I clicked the download icon, it opened into a new page (not new tab, new page same tab) with a lot of programming characters.
The browser was cycling which says it is still working on the page. Then after a couple of minutes, the page went blank and a spinning icon in the middle and that stayed like that. I could not back-step the page because it was locked.
Reading the documentation, apparently, this plugin has problems with some servers to gain access to download the backup, so this is why it had a blank page that went no where.
Instead of just creating a download popup like browsers usually give, this plugin creates some elaborate method that does not work to download. Their rationale is for us to use FTP to download the backup. — HENCE the lack of user friendly plugin.
A lot of people are not tech savvy to setup an FTP (you idiots) and if a plugin is not user friendly, then it is useless.
Other plugins had no problem connecting to the server folders to download, why such an issue with yours?
2.Creates proprietary archive format
This plugin creates a proprietary archive format in the extension of “sgbp”. The free source windows archive program 7-ZIP (excellent) reads the format, but shows virtually nothing in the archive, yet the archive has a size of over 165mb. So where are the rest of the folders and files?? – hence proprietary, only this plugin can read and use the archive.
Deleted plugin, not worth the time.
